專家說明

Designed, in the words of Sheraton in the Cabinet Dictionary, 1803, to be 'placed in halls, for the use of servants or strangers waiting on business', the splats of these drapery-swagged hall chairs are almost identical to a chair in the Victoria & Albert Museum (illustrated in R. Fastnedge, Sheraton Furniture, London, 1961, pl .11).
