This model of a Russisches Windspiel was first modelled by J.J. Kändler in 1766. For another example in the Dresden Schloß, see Carl Albiker, Die Meissner Porzellantiere im 18. Jahrhundert, Berlin, 1959, no. 179.
Another version of this model was sold at Christie's London, 30 November 2005, lot 24 (GBP 22,800).
