Ovoid, with all over gilt stencilwork on royal blue ground, the front and reverse centred with foliate lined medallions containing bouquets flanked with etched blue stylised flower sprays, within blue band borders, inscribed under base 'No. 7559. 29070.'

The design of the present egg relates closely to tablewares and vases made by the Imperial Porcelain Factory during the period of Nicholas I. For a nearly identical example see T. Kudriavtseva and H. Whitbeck, Russian Imperial Porcelain Easter Eggs, London, 2001, p. 245, No. 191.
