With Patek Philippe Certificate of Origin and Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with white dial and 10 black Roman numerals in 1999 and its subsequent sale on 17 June 1999. Furthermore delivered with two copies of the original invoice, setting pin, fitted veneered presentation box and outer packaging.
Fresh to the market, the present watch is preserved in very good overall condition.
Reference 5059 was introduced in 1998 and was replaced by reference 5159 in 2006. The model possesses the intriguing complication of a perpetual calendar mechanism with retrograde date hand, and is one of the very few perpetual calendar wristwatches with sweep centre seconds. Furthermore, it displays another of Patek Philippe's celebrated traditions - the "officer's"-style case, featuring a hinged gold dust cover that protects the sapphire crystal display back.
