專家說明

Designed for Dunglass Castle, Bowling, near Glasgow, the family home of Margaret and Frances Macdonald. Mackintosh made a number of alterations to rooms within the house in the summer of 1900 as well as designing a number of pieces of furniture. Most of these were for bedrooms and included a bed, wardrobe and mirror, now lost, and two white pieces - this dressing table and an accompanying wash-stand. The wash-stand realised 69,000 GBP in Designed by Architects, Christie's London, 2 November 2002, lot 15.

Christie's wishes to thank Roger Billcliffe for assistance in cataloguing this lot.
