Shaped circular, with Bath border, on three cast scroll feet, engraved with a coat-of-arms, motto and supporters surmounted by an Earl's coronet, marked on reverse and engraved with scratch weight 39=0

The arms are those of Booth, for George, 2nd Earl of Warrington (1675-1758)

The Earl of Warrington described this salver as one of "2 smaller Waiters" among a group of waiters and salvers ordered from Peter Archambo between 1730 and 1732. The smallest waiters are 6 inches diameter and the larger waiters are 15¾ inches in diameter; one is illustrated in Vanessa Brett, The Sotheby's Directory of Silver, 1986, fig. 792, p. 190. This salver matches one of a pair illustrated in James Lomax and James Rothwell, Country House Silver at Dunham Massey, 2006, cat. 17, pp. 66-67.
