專家說明

Operating from premises at 43, boulevard des Capucines from 1886, and on the place Vendôme after 1908, the firm of Boudet was the preeminent Parisian retailer of haut luxe furniture, bronzes, objets d'art and silver. Furniture makers and sculptors who supplied them with merchandise, which was then stamped with the Boudet cachet, included Zwiener, Linke, Millet and Bonheur. While the present pair are modeled as jardinières, an ormolu and patinated bronze pair of figures mounted as candelabra were sold at Christie's, New York, 11 April 2007, lot 110 ($48,000).
