The arms are those of Liddell, Baron Ravensworth, with Simpson of Bradley in pretence. This follows the elevation of Sir Thomas Henry Liddell (1775-1855), Baronet of Ravensworth Castle, co. Durham to the peerage on 17th July 1821. (8)
