Melon-fluted, engraved with foliage, scrolls and strapwork, with an overhead ivory-insulated swing handle, the conforming stand with a foliage and leaf skirt and three branch cast feet, with a central support of a lamp, lacking, engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked under kettle, inside cover, on handle and stand, further engraved under the kettle 'Lambert & Rawlings Coventry St. London'

The arms are those of Glyn quartering Carr with another in pretence, all impaling Granville, presumably for the Rev. Carr John Glyn (1799-1897) and his first wife Augusta (d.1837), daughter of John Granville, whom he married in 1831. The tea kettle was presumably engraved with the arms of his first wife to match an existing service as Rev. Glyn remarried in 1839.
