專家說明
This linen press is similar to a group of restrained mahogany pieces of furniture at Dumfries House, Scotland, that are almost certainly by the same, unidentified maker, referred to as the 'Dumfries House cabinet-maker'. The characteristics associated with this maker and found on this piece include a superb choice of mahogany, red wash on the underside, and a handle used by Thomas Chippendale on furniture supplied by him to other houses. For a full discussion on the 'Dumfries House cabinet-maker' see the introduction to the Christie's Dumfries House catalogue, Volume II.
