專家說明
With Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with rectangular tortoise-shape case, silvered dial and applied gold hour markers in 1925 and its subsequent sale on 20 October 1926.
The present lot is one of only four examples of such Patek Philippe "tortoise-shaped" wristwatch known to exist to date and furthermore believed to be the only one featuring Breguet numerals.
The model is distinguished by its distinct Art Deco design. Denominated "rectangular, tortoise shape" in the workbooks of Patek Philippe, the shape of the case resembles a turtle, a very popular animal during this era and symbol of good fortune and longevity in many civilisations.
