專家說明
Driva Watch Co. in Geneva was the first manufacturer producing quarter repeating wristwatches in series. The watches were mainly cased in stainless steel, fitted with rectangular-shaped movements surrounded by a gong onto which the quarters were stroke twice and the hours once by means of one hammer.
Despite their affordable prices, the models did not enjoy the desired success and production was ceased after a short period only.
The present watch is one of the very few Driva quarter repeating wristwatches having survived to date and is furthermore preserved in excellent overall condition.
The model is illustrated and described in Armbanduhren - 100 Jahre Entwicklungsgeschichte by Kahlert, Mühe, Brunner, fifth edition, p. 84, pl. 171, and p. 415, pl. 1415-1417.
