Established one hundred and fifty years ago, Zenith was named after the highest point in the sky. Today, the Defy line of timepieces embodies a partnership between technology and glamour. Aethetics complement functionality in the Defy Xtreme - the dial is built of different layers of carbon fibre, hesalite and aluminium so as to withstand shocks and the attention-grabbing propeller-shaped chronograph hands ensure the complication's robustness. A specially invented alloy called Zenithium, which is three times stronger than steel, is used for the balance cocks, chronograph and escape bridges. This allows the movement to withstand extreme conditions, purportedly to a depth of 1,000 metres under water.
