Each on shaped circular base with gadroon borders interspersed with shells, rising to a knopped fluted stem with shell corners baluster-shaped capitals with stiff-leaf motif and detachable nozzles with foliate decoration, the base engraved with coat-of-arms, the nozzles with crest

The arms are those of Hodgson impaling Howard quartering Brotherton, Warren and Fitzlan for the 1756 marriage of Studholme Hodgson (1708-1798) to Catherine Howard. (2)

專家說明

Colonel Studholme Hodgson, 7th Dragoon Guards, was Equerry and Stable Manager to the Duke of Cumberland, later appointed Ranger of Windsor Forest, and promoted to Field Marshal in July 1796. Catherine Howard was youngest daughter of Lieut. Gen. Henry Howard and a direct descendent of Admiral Lord Howard of Effingham.
