專家說明
Designed in the Palladian manner, the nymph herm pilasters with draped shoulders derive from the Diana mantelpiece, designed by William Kent for the hall of Houghton, Norfolk and illustrated in F. Hoppus, The Gentleman and Builder's Repository, 1737, pl. LVI. The drapery frieze with central tablet, comprising Cupid's mask on a love trophy of his weapons, relates to a pattern published by W. Jones, The Gentleman or Builder's Companion, 1739, pl. 22.
