The exterior brightly enameled in two large shaped panels with narrow green scroll borders, one with harvesters reaping and binding the ripened wheat, the other with figures piling the sheaves on a large rick while a lady with a basket looks on, alternating with smaller panels showing river landscapes, all reserved on an iron-red Y-pattern ground, inside a central floral bouquet below border of trellis, iron-red and gilt bands

Howard & Ayers identify the dress and countryside on this bowl as almost certainly English, noting that it might well have been used at harvest festivities. An almost identical bowl from the Helena Woolworth McCann collection at The Metropolitan Museum, New York, is illustrated by J.G. Phillips, China-Trade Porcelain, 1956, p. 79.
