FINE COPY. This farce, originally written by Mark Lemon, the editor of Punch, was so much altered by Dickens that it became at least partly his. It was produced for charity at Devonshire House, 16 May 1851, Dickens, Lemon, and Wilkie Collins all taking part. This reprint of the 1851 edition constitutes the second English and first American edition. Eckel pp. 164-165; Gimbel B125; Kitton Minor Writings pp. 213-215.
