The inscription reads 'PRESENTED TO H.R.H. THE DUKE OF KENT, K.G. on the occasion of his Marriage BY THE RESIDENTS OF THE BOROUGH OF WINDSOR AND NEIGHBOURHOOD NOVEMBER 1934 G.E. SHORT MAYOR'.
