Each cornice centred with a coat-of-arms, above a pair of glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, with two panelled doors and plinth base below, probably originally fitted bookcases and adapted, the reverse of one a label 'E.R.II, Buckingham Palace, L.C.D.' inscribed in ink 'Prince Michael', with a further Kent family ownership label, both bookcases with a printed paper label 'A.D.C. 187', minor differences in depth

The arms are either those of Hawkins, County of Gloucester and Sherington, or Richard Harokins, Sherington in the County of Hereford.
The storage label was applied by the Lord Chamberlain's Department, when the bookcases were stored at Buckingham Palace.
