專家說明

The music-stand's antique-fluted Roman-candelabrum pillar issues from a foliated urn, while its reed-gadrooned plinth is raised on a foliated and Grecian-scrolled 'claw' as featured in Messrs Gillows Estimate Books of the early 1820s and on a table executed for them by P.Fearnley (see S.E.Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London, vol. 2, Woodbridge, 2008, pl. GG26). Its pillar and claw can also be related to that of a table in Gillow's June 1825 Estimate Book (see Stuart, ibid, vol. 1, pl.274). One such stand features in J.C.Loudon's, Encyclopaedia of Cottage, Farm and Villa Architecture and Furniture, 1833 (no. 1964).
