專家說明

This model, dated 1886, would appear to be a proposal for the statue of Prince Albert's deer-stalking ghillie John Brown (d.1883), which was commissioned for Balmoral, Perthshire by Queen Victoria in commemoration of the loyalty of 'her Friend more than Servant'. The Balmoral Estate had been purchased by the Queen in 1852. The statue, lacking the horse, was executed by Sir Joseph Boehm (d.1890).
