Pauillac, 1er cru classé. Château-bottled Tasting Note: Classic Mouton cépage blend - Cabernet Sauvignon 86 Merlot 12 and Cabernet Franc 2 - and 57 of the crop used for the grand vin. In March 1999, opaque, intense; complete; more flesh and fruit than the '97. More recently, with Patrick Léon: spicy, fragrant, very 'Mouton' aroma; good fruit and length. Very tannic yet fleshy. Last tasted at the château, April 2000 (****) 2012 - 2025 M.B.
