Léonard Boudin, maître in 1761.
Boudin established himself in the early 1770s in the Clôtre Saint Germain l'Auxerrois, close to the Louvre and his fellow ébénistes in the rue Saint Honoré. Increasingly acting as a marchand-ébéniste, Boudin was one of the sub-contractors employed by Joubert for the comte de Provence during the summer of 1771, including the bureau plat delivered for Compiène in July 1771 (A. Pradère, Les Ebénistes Françaises du XVIIIe Siècle, Paris, 1989, pp. 271-272).
