Egidius Linnig (Antwerp 1821-1860)

On Friday the 15th of June 1858 the trading vessel the 'Constant' ran on a coral reef off the coast of a small island near New Guinea. After abandoning ship, the lifeboats sprang a leek and the crew was forced to go on land.
