The pierced repousse brass basket top worked with flower-filled vases and garlands surmounted by a double scroll handle and flanked by four vase finials, rectangular glazed side panels, and raised on later brass bracket feet, the 6½ in. square dial with cherub-cast spandrels to the silvered chapter ring with Arabic and Roman numerals and cruciform half hour markers, enclosing a matted center, with mock pendulum and calendar apertures, both with engraved borders, and later ebonized hands, strike/not strike lever above XII, the eight-day movement with five knopped and ringed pillars, twin line fusees, reconverted to verge escapement with later apron and strike on bell, the back plate with foliate engraving and signed 'Markwick London'; one pendulum, one winder, restorations, probably formerly with a pull repeat
