The inverted pear shaped kettle, the shoulder repoussé chased with flowers and scrolls on matted ground, with overhead leather covered swing handle, the hinged cover similarly chased with flower finial, the stand on three rocaille and flower feet, with pierced shell and floral garlands, the kettle engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked under kettle and under lamp, the covers unmarked

The arms are those of FitzHerbert impaling Meynell, for William FitzHerbert (1712-1772) and his wife Mary (d. 1753), daughter of Littleton Poyntz Meynell, of Bradley, Derbyshire.
