Painted to the centre with an accollé coat-of-arms, coronet and supporters within a band of linked chains at the well, the bracket-shaped rim decorated with sprays of flowers, restored

The arms are those of colonel Messire Jean-Charles-Henri van Dam baron van Dam d'Audignies and Marie-Philippine de Meulde de la Deuze, dame de Thiant, see Archeologie des Familles de Belgique, by Felix-Victor Goethals, p.112.
A tureen and cover with similar decoration were sold in these rooms on 20 May 2008, lot 210.
