專家說明

Jacques Philippe Lebas (1707-1783) received his first art lessons in Paris under Hérisset at age fourteen. He developed his skills in the Academie de Rouen and under the engraver Nicolas Tardieu. He quickly established himself as one of the most sought after engravers of the mid 18th Century. In 1743 he was admitted as a full member of the Royal French Academy and received the title of Graveur du Roy by Louis XVI in 1782. Lebas was inspired by the work of David Teniers and made around 100 works after David Teniers (1610-1690) amongst them the series of the Fêtes Flamandes.
