Circle of Salvator Rosa (Arenella 1615-1673 Rome)

The present painting appears to be a variation on a lost composition by Rosa representing the same subject (see L. Salerno ed., L'Opera Completa di Salvator Rosa, Milan, 1975, p. 96, no. 137, illustrated p. 95).
