專家說明

Jan Wyck was described by George Vertue as 'a Dutch Battel-Painter of grate note'. He recorded several military expeditions of King William III, such as the Battle of the Boyne and the Siege at Namur.

William III, Prince of Orange became King of the British Isles in 1689. He appears in a similar pose on horseback in a picture in the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, depicting the landing at Torbay on 5 November 1688.
