Please note that the later inscription inside this cigarette-case, is to the well-known film producer and screenwriter, Anatole de Gunewald (1910-1967), whose family fled Russia in 1917. Educated at Cambridge and the Sorbonne, he turned to screenwriting in 1939 and produced the Oscar-winning film, VIPS starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, in 1963.
