Tasting Note: A dozen notes. Good, rather high toned fruit. Then on its tenth anniversary, plummy coloured, taut brambly fruit on nose and palate. Relatively forthcoming, though tannic. More recently, dining at the château (June 2000): sweet, rich mouthfilling, its extract masking tannic finish. Four months later, the oldest of six vintages of Lalande: sweet, rich, 'touch of molasses' note; crisp, lean, dry, drinking well. *** (almost 4-star) M.B.
