專家說明

This print table was designed by Brangwyn for his own use in his studio at The Jointure, Ditchling and, as such, was in use until his death in 1956. It demonstrates a combination of Puginian simplicity with Japanese design. The wood used throughout is 3 cm. thick, the table top is made of three tongue and grooved sections, the base is pegged construction, the middle section of the end supports filled in with wood to give a Japanese flavour - the voids giving the appearance of being punched out. Brangwyn's entire oeuvre, from oil painted, to printing, furniture and interior design was influenced by Japanese arts and crafts. Brangwyn purchased The Jointure in 1918, a year before he became a member of the Royal Academy.
