專家說明

Sir Charles Warre Malet, 1st Bt., a diplomat and member of the East India Company was resident of the Maratha Court in Poona from 1786 to 1797. These clubs were used for exercise by holding the club at the slim end and swinging it around the body, thereby strengthening the arm and shoulder muscles.

A related pair of exercise clubs is in the Mehrangarh Museum in Jodphur, Rajastan.
