專家說明

This clock has Turkish numerals on its dial and was part of the large group of clocks made in the 18th century and intended for export to the Near East, the Turkish Empire and Persia. There was a considerable trade in the 18th century of London clock makers selling their clocks abroad. The partnership of James Markwick and Robert Markham is recorded in London between circa 1725 and 1805. They specialized in clocks and watches for Turkey.
