A Cloisonné Enamel Vase
Meiji period (late 19th century)
Faceted with six sides and designed in silver wire of various thickness and in colored enamels with ducks on a stream beneath a bridge and a bamboo fence, all among blossoming flowers, the foot decorated with standing irises and the shoulder covered in vines of blossoming wisteria, a formal band of flowers around the hexagonal mouth, areas along the banks of the stream highlighted with clusters of silver dots and the slats of the fence rendered in strips of silver; silver mounts
