專家說明

Carlo Bugatti (1856-1940) was born in Milan and trained at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He was greatly influenced by the early exponents of the 'New Art Movement' in their reaction against the heavy, ornate, classical, Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo styles fashionable in the mid-19th Century. His work used geometric forms, and a variety of materials, colours and textures, often with a Islamic influence.

A very similar pair of wall brackets was sold Christie's London, 21 April 2004, lot 142.
