專家說明
This chest-of-drawers descended in the same family as the Fisher-Fox tea table (Christie's New York, October 3, 2007, lot 94). Among the furnishings of the family's estate, Chelwood, the chest and the andirons in lots 464-466 were most likely owned by Hannah Wharton Fisher (b. 1816), the daughter of William Wharton Fisher (1786-1838) and Mary Pleasants Fox (1790-1872). She married Dr. Charles Ray King (1813-1901), a grandson of the New York statesman, Rufus King (1755-1827) and in 1848, he purchased Chelwood, a grand home on the banks of the Delaware River in Andalusia, Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
