L'ensemble des oeuvres que nous proposons sous les lots 69 à 100 provient de la collection de Georges Couturat. Ce collectionneur, actif dans la première moitié du XXème siècle, était à la fois un amateur éclairé et un marchand - il acheta entre autres, en 1946 à l'Hôtel Drouot, le tableau de Gustave Caillebotte, L'homme au balcon, boulevard Haussmann (vendu, Christie's New York, 9 mai 2000). Ami intime des artistes, mais aussi mécène, il entretint des rapports étroits d'amitié avec Henri Manguin dont il possédait plusieurs tableaux.
The following works (lots 69-100) were assembled by Georges Couturat, an enlightened collector, art dealer and patron active in the early 20th century. Important works in his collection included his 1946 purchase of Gustave Caillebotte's L'homme au balcon (sold, Christie's, New York, 9 May 2000). His patronage of the artist's with whom he worked at the gallery was extensive, and his friendship with and support of Henri Manguin is notable.
