In the manner of Morgan and Saunders, circa 1810
Each with a rectangular caned seat between reeded X-frame supports terminating in scrolls, the arms and legs joined by reeded baluster turned supports on gilt-metal ball feet, various repairs and restoration
Each: 24½ in. (62 cm.) high; 34 in. (86 cm.) wide; 16 in. (41 cm.) deep (2)

This pair of Grecian-form bench was popularized by Messrs. Morgan and Saunders of Trafalgar House, Catherine Street, and a related window seat by these makers is illustrated in R. Ackermann, The Repository of Arts, London, 1809 (see P. Agius, Ackermann's Regency Furniture and Interiors, London, 1984, p.39).
