Tasting note: A dozen consistently good notes, from 'fragrant yet tannic' (1989); 'high-toned fruit, still tannic' (1994); 'still a hint of ruby, fragrant, perfect weight, more astringency than expected' (1997), and variations on the same theme in between. Most recently: soft, ripe, open, vanillin bouquet which held well. Richly flavoured. A good but not great Palmer. Last tasted April 2000 **** Now-2015 Michael Broadbent, Vintage Wine
