Shaped circular, the foot with rosette and acanthus foliage border, the melon fluted body with anthemion, acanthus foliage, shell and gadrooned rim, the swing handle chased with shells and two grotesque dolphin masks, the centre engraved with a coat-of-arms, marked on side and handle

The arms are those of Chetwynd impaling Petit, for Henry Chetwynd (1791-1885) of Brockton Lodge, Staffordshire, and his wife Mary Anne (d.1888), daughter of the Rev. John Hayes Petit of Hilton, Staffordshire, whom he married in 1827. Henry was the third son of Sir George Chetwynd 1st Bt. (1739-1824).
