專家說明
Accompanied by Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with dial with chased gilded centre, hour markers in capital letters on white enamel, small second hand, the case with white enamel and chased work on the bezel and on the bottom of the pendant, "MDS" enamelled monogram in three colours to the case in 1917 and its subsequent sale on 31 January 1918.
The particularities of this watch, a unique piece made to special order for Mr. Morton D. Stone, are doubtlessly its unusual dial, featuring the client's name instead of the numerals on white enamel cartouches and the personalized case, both confirmed by the Extract. Such entirely custom-made watches signed Patek Philippe are exceedingly rare as often such parts, especially the dials, were added by the local retailer.
