SAAD SHAKER (IRAQI, 1935-2005)

Saad Shaker is considered as the father of modern ceramics in Iraq, and among the leading ceramists of the Arab world. His works, consisting of morphological shapes which allude to the natural forms of plants, shells or geology, are widely known. His ceramics combine tremendous skill in execution with delicate, sensitive use of colour.
