專家說明

The firm of Henry Dasson often directly copied known pieces and the patinated bronze figures to this pair of brûle-parfums are of a form used by François Rémond, (see Furniture, Porcelain & Silver from Longleat, Christie's, London, 13-14 June 2002, lot 307), Jean-François Forty and adopted by the St. Petersburg bronziers (see Christie's, New York, 18 October 2002, lot 645). A celebrated pair of candelabra by Rémond with similar caryatids are in The Royal Collection at Windsor Castle.

A pair of brûle-parfums of identical form, lacking the pierced rim and with white marble base and bowl, are illustrated in P. Kjellberg, Objets montés du Moyen Age à nos jours, Paris, 2000, p. 160.

Similarly pairs of this model by Dasson have been sold at Sotheby's New York on 28 March 1992, lot 148A, and in The Greenberg Collection, 21 May 2004, lot 16. Please see lot 104 for a note on Dasson.
