Ralph Jentsch has confirmed the authenticity of this work and will include it in his forthcoming George Grosz catalogue raisonné of works on paper.

Bruno Cassirer was not only the younger brother of the famous art dealer Paul Cassirer, but a book publisher in Berlin and manager of his own art gallery. Grosz showed watercolors and drawings at Bruno Cassirer's gallery in Berlin twice, in 1929 and 1930, and the two exhibitions resulted in the publication of 60 new drawings by the artist in one volume titled Über alles die Liebe, or Love Above All.
