The Fall of Troy and the Escape of Aeneas
engraving, circa 1545, on laid paper, watermark Paschal Lamb in a Circle (similar to Woodward 47, circa 1562), a very good impression of this large print, second state (of five), printing very clearly and with good contrasts, trimmed within the platemark or to or just inside the subject in places, a few minor repairs, otherwise in very good condition
Sheet 384 x 493 mm.

Emanuel Levy (early 20th century), New York (Lugt 876); then probably by descent; sold under the name of Elisabeth B. Levy, Anderson Galleries (Metropolitan Art Association), New York, one of three sales, 1913-1916.
