CHARLOTTE PERRIAND (1903-1999)

Avec cette bibliothèque, Charlotte Perriand matérialise une certaine musicalité des éléments, montant sa pièce en alternant plots peints en noir et blanc, suggérant les touches d’un instrument de musique qui donnent à la pièce une sonorité nouvelle, à la fois réglé et improvisé. C'est à partir de cet exemplaire que Cassina éditera la bibliothèque Plurima à l'occasion des dix ans de la disparition de Charlotte Perriand. Notre exemplaire s’en distingue par son installation lumineuse.

With this bookcase, Charlotte Perriand created a sense of musicality by alternating black and white painted blocks, suggesting the keys of a musical instrument that gave the piece a new tone, which was both regular and improvised. It is from this design that Cassina produced the Plurima bookcase for the ten-year anniversary of Charlotte Perriand’s death. It is distinctive for its lighting.
