EMMA REGIS (ITALIAN, B. 1854)

The works of this Italian female artist rarely appear on the market, and the present example is one which expresses dignity for her sitters. Sitting outside of her œuvre of noble ladies in interiors and classical scenes of ladies sewing, Emma Regis uses a social-realist slant in these four acutely observed portraits.
