FREDERICK WALKER (BRITISH, 1840-1875)

Walker, a member of the Idyllists group, tended to focus his subject matter on bucolic scenes of English life. He only occasionally travelled overseas - twice to Paris, and to Venice in 1868 and 1870. The present drawing dates from the second of these trips, when he travelled with with his friend William Quiller Orchardson.
